THE GUARDIAN: FRESH DOUBTS ON LOCKERBIE CONVICTION*

FPF - 5 Oct. 2007 - The Guardian in the UK writes: "The key prosecution witness in the Lockerbie bombing trial was allegedly offered a $2m reward in return for giving evidence." And the so called 'evidence' was made by the CIA. Politically, at that point in time it was more 'profitable' to blame Libya - which had nothing to do with the Lockerbie drama - for the crash.*
But: where were all those so called 'leaders' in the different countries? All those judges and lawyers, the politicians claiming to know the law? Apart from UN observer Prof. Köchler and a handful of writers, they were nowhere! In none of the countries within the US/UK power & profit block anybody protesting was heard nor seen, explaining loudly what criminals are dealt with. War criminals too, which will carry the eternal shame as the liars they are. Guilty by association or worse of killing millions of innocent people in illegal and inhumane conflicts. The psychopaths and their collaborators lie, and the people die.
CIA' 'MANAGERS' DIRECTED THE LOCKERBIE TRIAL
And thus was the 'Lockerbie trial' in Holland - and especially the corrupted Scottish 'judges' - wholly directed by the CIA's managers: a total distortion of legal and human reality. It most certainly was a disgusting and fascistic US/UK junta 'Show Process', with all cowards and collaborators shutting up, and innocent people getting jail for life. When South African human rights icon Nelson Mandela said Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, the Libyan convicted - was innocently jailed, the icon Mandela disappeared from the mass media the warmongers run. To those criminals 'justice' stands for: 'just us.'
'Court cases' like these were held in Moscow in the former Soviet Union and in the 'western' media abhorred. But when the Lockerbie trial in Camp Zeist in The Netherlands, by special UN observer prof. Hans Köchler was said to be: "A miscarriage of justice.'' none of the cowardly 'leaders' was heard. They - everywhere - are a shame for humanity and for their collaboration must be jailed as soon as is possible.
In an article which is careful enough, The Guardian in the UK now says ''there are fresh doubts concerning the Lockerbie conviction.'' And that is one of the understatements of the year. The story - which is nearly two decades too late - is written by Severin Carrell, who is the Guardian's Scotland correspondent confirms the CIA's bribe: "The key prosecution witness in the Lockerbie bombing trial was allegedly offered a $2m reward in return for giving evidence, raising fresh doubts about the safety of the case.
Lawyers for Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, the Libyan convicted of murdering 270 people on board Pan Am Flight 103, have evidence that detectives investigating the bombing recommended that Tony Gauci, a shopkeeper from Malta, be given the payment after the case ended.
MR GAUCI'S TESTIMONY AT THE TRIAL WAS CRUCIAL TO AL-MEGRAHI'S CONVICTION.
He told the trial at Camp Zeist in the Netherlands that the Libyan had bought clothes at his shop which the prosecution claimed were packed into the suitcase bomb that exploded over Lockerbie on December 21 1988.
The defence team believe Mr Gauci may have received a larger sum from the US authorities. His role in the case is to be central to al-Megrahi's appeal against his conviction, which the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission said was unsafe.
They are to press for full disclosure of these payments, and the release of a potentially vital US document which is thought to cast doubt on official accounts about the timer allegedly used in the bombing, at an appeal hearing next week.
The secret document is believed to dispute prosecution claims that al-Megrahi used a digital timer bought from a Swiss company, Mebo, and then planted the bomb on a flight from Malta to Germany - a disclosure which would fatally undermine his conviction."
