| HET WETENSCHAPPELIJK ONDERZOEK WORDT KOMENDE WEEK GEPUBLICEERD IN HET INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF NEUROSCIENCE.* MAASTRICHT/NIJMEGEN (GPD) - 10 September 2007 - Mensen die meerdere jaren veelvuldig mobiel bellen, vertonen vaak een vertraagde hersenactiviteit zoals die ook bij de ziekte van Alzheimer te zien is. Dit blijkt uit nog niet gepubliceerd onderzoek van het bedrijf Brainclinics en de Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen. De onderzoekers hebben twee tot drie jaar lang enkele honderden mensen gevolgd die met grote regelmaat mobiel bellen. Bij een belangrijk deel van hen stelden de onderzoekers een vertraagde hersenactiviteit vast. Onderzoeker Martijn Arns, als bio-psycholoog verbonden aan het bedrijf, vermoedt dat de effecten op de langere termijn nog ingrijpender zijn. Twee, drie jaar intensief gsm-gebruik leidt weliswaar tot een vertraagde hersenactiviteit, maar van een gezondheidsrisico is nog geen sprake, aldus de onderzoeker. "Maar wat zijn de effecten als mensen straks tien, vijftien jaar gsm's gebruiken? We moeten er rekening mee houden dat de effecten opeen stapelen, blijvend zijn en dus echt schadelijk kunnen worden." WORDT KOMENDE WEEK GEPUBLICEERD Het wetenschappelijk onderzoek wordt komende week gepubliceerd in het International Journal of Neuroscience. Het is de eerste studie waarin de langetermijn invloed van mobiel bellen is gemeten. In eerdere onderzoeken werd altijd gekeken naar de acute effecten van gsm-straling op de hersenen. Die bleken zeer wisselend te zijn. Voor dit recente onderzoek is de hersenactiviteit gemeten van honderd mensen die frequent bellen (dagelijks, meermaals, in totaal langer dan twintig minuten), honderd mensen die nooit mobiel bellen en honderd uit een tussencategorie. Een deel van de proefpersonen kwam uit de Maastrichtse vestiging van Brainclinics. Onderzoeker Arns adviseert mobielgebruikers een headset te gebruiken dan wel handsfree te bellen. "Houd hoe dan ook de gsm zo ver mogelijk van het oor, want de straling naar de hersenen neemt met het kwadraat van de afstand af." Vervolgonderzoek moet uitwijzen of de vertraagde hersenactiviteit schadelijk is voor de gezondheid. In dat gebouw, dat op 11 september 2001 om 17.20 uur instortte, waren onder andere de hulpdiensten van de stad, de kantoren van de CIA, van defensie en de immigratiedienst ondergebracht. | Former minister and UN envoy, politician Mr. Jan Pronk, has openly and repeatedly called Dutch PM Balkenende a liar. He, like many, keeps wondering how a so called 'christian' gov't can get away with all illegal wars and crimes, and he - like many - wants an official but honest parliamentarian investigation of the Iraq war. Henk Ruyssenaars - Foreign correspondent FPF-Amsterdam - 6 August 2007 - The industry information paper NRC Handelsblad again, and like the rest of the media, is busy with 'damage control': defusing the political bomb under the seat of the government. But there's no denying it and even the mainstream propaganda media had to refer to it: former minister and special UN observer Prof. Dr. Jan Pronk, said during a conference aloud and twice: ''The present prime minister of the Netherlands is a liar, and his party has lied us onto the American side and into the Iraq war.'' The propaganda parrots couldn't any longer hide this statement, a cry for justice and accountability too, and Pronk's protest hit the mainstream media. For many Dutch, where the propaganda media still not openly talk about the US junta's inside job on 9/11, and where the US myth about the 'Arabs' attacking the WTC skyscrapers 'because they hate our freedom' is frantically kept alive by some warmongering 'experts' and their media, Pronk's protest is like a long time overdue wake-up call. One of many signs on a huge wall of honesty. We let him get away with everything! To Balkenende we don't say: You are a liar. You are a liar! We all have been taken for a ride by him into the quagmire of Iraq with a story which is a real shame. We don't hear the Labor Party officially say this: we ended up on the side of the Americans in a clumsily lying manner." Said Pronk in this burst of honesty, by which PM Balkenende, his group, and SHELL plant and 'minister of finance' and Vice PM Wouter Bos politically was hurt badly. Even if Pronk afterwards said: 'It may not have been 'politically correct' to say this.' And halfheartedly offered excuses. PARACHUTED INTO THE LABOR PARTY'S DRIVER SEAT The for ten years by SHELL trained 'Deputy Prime Minister' and Finance minister Bos (linked to the European Central Bank, the FED and the BIS*), who of course again has his pawns on the Dutch tax money, is b.t.w. one of the 'dirtiest politicians' which The Netherlands ever had.* Bos is a 'plant' and 'sell out' optima forma, who after graduating in 1988 in economics at the Vrije Universiteit (VU), the 'Free (?) University' in Amsterdam, went to work for SHELL. And after ten years of training, Bos was parachuted into politics. ''From 1998 to 2000 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the States General for the Labour Party (PvdA). From 24 March 2000 to 22 July 2002 Mr. Bos was State Secretary for Finance in the second [and equally treacherous] Kok* government. Of this multinational banking community Mr. Wouter Bos of course and already for many years is a full time member as 'Finance Governor'. Bos is not only the Vice PM but also represents the other vice, offending any decency standards human beings may have and bleeding Holland. "We in the Labor Party got to attack this CDA PM Balkenende harder." Pronk said, aiming at the CDA's inhumane policy. Between one and two million people dead in Iraq? The people of The Netherlands made guilty by association? They really don't care! So one of the reasons behind Pronk's protest is the fact that the Labor Party always said it wanted an investigation into the illegal participation of Holland on the american junta's side in the Iraq war, and than withdrew the claim when they could take part in this fourth Balkenende cabinet. It was formed in secret talks by the CDA with the fundamentalistic Christian Union, and the Labor Party 'compromized' and threw all investigation claims in the wind. Treason which is not acceptable to Pronk, many Labor Party members, and a majority of the rest of the 16.5 million Dutch people. DAMAGE CONTROL The compliant media in Holland (95%) are busy and try to make this official request by Pronk to disappear in the 'memory hole' faster than quick. Because he has started protesting openly and loudly, and still - like many other people - wants a real investigation. | Elke keer weer duikt de vraag op: waarom adviseren sommige 'vakbondsleiders' bijna altijd hun leden om gewone andere mensen met 'harde acties' 't slachtoffer te laten worden? Daar wordt zo'n bond echt niet populair van. Integendeel: zo maken 'ze' de vakbonden niet sterker maar kapot. En dat is blijkbaar de bedoeling. Henk Ruyssenaars - Journalist FPF - Amsterdam - 5 Augustus 2007 - Toen in Utrecht jaren geleden de burgemeester in de gemeenteraad besloot om de mensen die het vieze werk opknapten bij de vuilnisophaaldienst géén loonsverhoging te geven, meer centjes die ze wel hard nodig hadden, toen had de vakbondsleiding een aardige oplossing die de derde man aan het lachen maakte en toch goede resultaten opleverde. Na het onzalige 'raadsbesluit' verzamelden de volgende dag 'n hoop chauffeurs zich - met hun volle vuilniswagens - en reden naar de villa van de kwalijke 'burgervader'. En, in een goeie en ludieke actie, werden daar de tonnen - eerder wél opgehaald huisvuil - in een hoge wal rond de behuizing van de burgemeester gestort. Zonder lang te moeten wroeten kon de 'vroede' burgervader er dus echt niet meer uit, en de loonsverhoging en betere arbeidsvoorwaarden kwamen er meteen. Het kon eigenlijk dus wél, en die bezuinigingen waren nergens voor nodig. Hooguit om zoals gebruikelijk de eigen zak te spekken. Nog een voorbeeld: jaren geleden besloot de z.g. 'volksvertegenwoordiging' - het via de belastingen betaalde politieke personeel in Den Haag, in en rond het Binnenhof - dat de brandweerkorpsen in Nederland géén betere werkomstandigheden volgens hun CAO zouden krijgen. Terwijl ze die wel nodig hadden. En, net zoals nu, en terwijl het allemaal doorgestoken kaart is, riepen toen al de respectievelijk financiële collaborateurs, zoals Wouter Bos dezer dagen ook: "dat bezuinigingen dringend noodzakelijk zijn." Dat is niet waar: de roofmoordenaars hier te lande hebben ons weliswaar - samen met Zweden - met de hoogste belastingen ter wereld opgezadeld, maar alle 'groten', miljardenverdieners zoals Ikea, Gucci, Coca Cola, Nike, Bono etc. - die betalen allemaal géén belastingen.* En wij moeten bezuinigen? Roofmoordenaars zijn het! HUISVUIL EN SCHUIM ALS WAPENS Maar, in ieder geval: indertijd werd er door de brandweermensen ook iets ludieks bedacht, en vertrok er 'n stel grote brandweerwagens uit verschillende delen van het land naar Den Haag en het Binnenhof. Er hoefde - volgens het personeel dat zich nu als 'parlementariër' dacht te kunnen beschouwen - ''niet meer te worden gepraat''. Dat dachten die arrogante knoeiers tenminste, maar ze hadden buiten de grote blusslangen gerekend die de brandwaarmensen uitrolden. Die werden over de muren van het Binnenhof gegooid en via de poortjes neergelegd, en toen gingen alle schuimspuiten aan: niemand van die kwalijke club van 't politieke personeel kon nog in of uit 't Binnenhof waar de schuimmasse twee meter hoog stond. Het was een goed argument die schuim-tsunami. En ook dat werkte overtuigend, zonder dat de derde man schade werd berokkend. Toen later besloten werd - ondanks de waanzinnig grote aardgasbel in Slochteren - om weer de prijs van 'n kuub gas voor de huishoudens te verhogen, zodat er nóg meer met winst voor 't multinationale bedrijfsleven, BV Nederland, naar het buitenland verkocht kon worden, protesteerden niet alleen de bonden voor hun leden, maar ook veel andere mensen. En volledig terecht natuurlijk: de natuurlijke rijkdom aan bodemschatten zoals in Slochteren moet - nét zoals indertijd het koper in 't Chili van President Salvador Allende, of de olie in Iraq, Iran, Africa of Venezuela etc. - natuurlijk volledig aan de mensen in 't land zelf ten goede komen. En zeker niet op de overvolle BIS bankrekeningen* belanden bij de rest van het bloedgeld van deze War Lords mafia, de 'dirty directors' en hun laffe meelopers bij de globale buitenlandse multinationals die de wereld nu tevergeefs proberen te 'runnen'. GRATIS GAS Even terug naar betere tijden: de VARAa - die toen net zoals veel anderen nog aan kritische journalistiek deed - wijdde er een speciaal (nu verdwenen natuurlijk) TV programma aan, en men liet zien hoe de mensen gratis gas konden krijgen met de gasmeters die toen werden gebruikt. Men hoefde de meters, zo lieten 'deskundigen' op de televisie zien, alleen maar zijdelings te kantelen en het gas stroomde gewoon door zonder dat de meter daarentegen iets berekende. Dit soort kritische en mensenvriendelijke aanpak schijnt volledig verloren te zijn gegaan, door de bonden (de NVJ ook*) en de hun acties verziekende figuren. Die zijn de schuld, die creaturen. In heel Europa moeten blijkbaar de bonden kapot, want iedereen weet dat een vereend volk sterk staat. En daar willen de mensachtigen - die bijvoorbeeld ook de Europese Unie als 'n handelsblok runnen - niet aan. Daar geldt nog altijd het 'verdeel en heers' systeem: kijk maar naar de manier waarop mensen overal ter wereld - vooral via de media met hun verraderlijke propaganda - tegen elkaar worden opgezet. Men maakt 'n 'probeem' voor een bevolkingsgroep, door bijvoorbeeld wat bommen op 'n markt te laten afgaan, en dan beschuldigen 'hun' media wie ze maar willen. De 'vakbondsleiding' laat dan bijvoorbeeld de mensen staken zodat derden worden getroffen, en jaagt zo de rest tegen zich in het harnas. WAT ER IN HEEL VEEL LANDEN GEBEURDE EN GEBEURT IS HET KAPOTMAKEN VAN WAT ER OVER IS VAN DE VAKBONDEN DIE BIJNA ALLEMAAL TANDELOZE TIJGERS ZIJN GEWORDEN. De politievakbond helpt met de toenemende repressie, en het 'AIVD bewind' de CIA met de mensonwaardige martelvluchten. Net zoals 't politieke personeel, de 'regering', die zich niets hoeft aan te trekken van vakbonden voor militairen: de illegale oorlogen en oorlogsmisdaden gaan jaar in, jaar uit door. Want de bonden zijn in de meeste gevallen sterk geïnfiltreerd door figuren die onder het mom van 'vakbondswerk' (zie Wim Kok) het hele solidariteitssysteem - en daarmee het sociale vangnet dat in Nederland met miljarden belastinggeld werd opgebouwd - naar de bliksem helpen. Zoals gisteren en vandaag het (nu nog ontregelde) metro transport in Londen, waar 't 'geprivatiseerde' stelsel van de ondergrondse 'plat' ging zodat veel mensen naar huis moesten lopen. Met alle gevolgen voor derden, die in de meeste gevallen de vakbondsleden de schuld gaven van alle ellende. Iets wat de propaganda-media dan breed uitsmeren, zoals 't onverteerbare en wereldvreemde NOS 'Journaal', De Telegraaf die zoals altijd 'fout' is, de monargiastische Volkskrant, 't Algemeen Dagblad etc. En natuurlijk de laffe en aanverwante demagogische propaganda-spuiers van 't internationale bedrijfsleven. Zoals ook de meeste leden van de z.g. Nederlandse Vereniging van 'Journalisten' (NVJ) - die, als 't 'de leiding' uitkomt, ook beweert 'n soort vakbond te zijn. Die niet kunnen of weigeren te begrijpen dat de tweeduizenddriehonderd mensen die bij de failliete Metronet ondergrondse in Londen werkten - nét zoals zij - belogen, en om hun werk en pensioentjes bedrogen worden. maar misschien zoekt de NVJ nog naar de honderden miljoenen euries die APAX bij PCM liet verdwijnen? Sukkels! Stakingen die de voor de werknemers goeie kant op gaan worden meestal snel gestopt door de 'leiding'. Of provocateurs - met 'hun' media - zorgen ervoor dat de stakers in een slecht daglicht komen te staan. Provocateurs, die niets met de vakbond of de bondsleden te maken hebben, gooien ruiten in, veroorzaken rellen en steken auto's in brand. Maar het zijn trouwens nooit de grote dure auto's, let maar 's op: het zijn altijd de kleinere autos en middenstandsramen zodat de 'doorsnee mensen' negatief op de relschoppers gaan reageren. De video over Franse 'agent provocateurs' - die uit een herkenbare politie-auto klimmen en er dan op los gaan slaan - heeft vrijwel niemand ooit meer gezien. Zoals heel veel van dat soort videos. Maar zo werkt het in Nederland en omringende landen ook. Precies hetzelfde.* De aangevreten vakbonden maken amper nog een vuist, maar dat zouden ze meer dan ooit moeten doen. Want de roofmoord gaat gewoon door: al in Januari 2005 werden de verdere sociale afbraakplannen besproken door Balkenende en zijn ploeg, tijdens een grotendeels verzwegen Bilderberg conferentie in - waar anders? - Oosterbeek. BALKENENDE: WERKLOOS HEET 'TUSSEN TWEE BANEN IN' ''Nederland is toe aan een nieuwe ordening van de samenleving'' - zo verklaarde hij, en deze uitlating van Balkenende en consorten staat zoals gebruikelijk qua asocialiteit op hetzelfde niveau als deze: "Hij wil af van het begrip 'werkloos' en introduceert 'tussen twee banen in'." De dikwijls gedwongen werloze mensen kosten volgens hun begrippen alleen maar geld en staan de winst in de weg. Het huidige management van BV Nederland wil winst zien, en mensen zijn daarbij enkel 'n gereedschap dat geen onderhoud moet vergen. Ziekenzorg of soortgelijks als pensioenen voor de werknemers. Dat kost alleen maar geld, en doet afbreuk aan de asociale winsten. Gisteren, de vierde September, was het de Dag van de Arbeid (Labor Day) in de Verenigde Staten, maar in New York, waar deze 'Dag van de Arbeid' optochten ooit trots van start gingen was het stil. Het was stil omdat de weinige overgebeven 'vakbondsleiders' en hun leden niet meer willen meedoen met de officiele 9/11 leugens. Ze gaan nu aanstaande Zaterdag in New York de straat op, en protesteren dan zo dicht mogelijk bij de plaats waar de drie World Trade Center wolkenkrabbers op 9/11 dood en verderf hebben gezaaid. Zaterdag, 8 September: 9/11 EN DE ASBESTOS SLACHTOFFERS Ze zijn er namelijk achter gekomen dat de US junta niet alleen hun leven en gezondheid heeft verknoeid, maar dat het om misschien wel miljoenen mensen gaat. Want aanstaande Zaterdag, zullen de vakbonden de aandacht vestigen op de overweldigende gezondheidsproblemen en de voorbarige dood van veel leden die op 9/11 dachten te kunnen helpen. Overigens, om even terug te komen op de brandweer: op 1 Mei 2002 stond in 'n artikel in het blad 'Fire Engineering' voor de brandweerkorpsen in de Verenigde Staten: "Fire Engineering heeft goede reden om aan te nemen dat het 'officiele onderzoek' dat is gezegend door de FEMA* en uitgevoerd door de 'American Society of Civil Engineers' is een half-gebakken klucht die besteld kan zijn en beheerst wordt door de politieke krachten wier primaire interesse, om het zachtjes uit te drukken, ver verwijderd zijn van het volledige onthullen van 9/11." Publiceerde 'Fire Engineering' toen al, in 2002. En ook omdat de vakbonden niets deden zijn we nu miljoenen doden verder terwijl de roofmoord doorgaat. En we zijn medeschuldig gemaakt. Logischerwijze is ook bij de bonden voor de brandweerkorpsen in de VS de indruk in het algemeen en globaal gezien onder de huidige wantoestanden: dat veel 'vakbondsleiders' meer kapot maken dan je lief is. | YOU THOUGHT 9/11 WAS BAD? IT'S MUCH WORSE! The 'inside job' of 9/11 and the WTC drama probably also had unknown millions of people poisoned by asbestos clouds: "Either this is the most horrific story I’ve ever heard in my life, or those people are completely crazy. It couldn’t have happened." - Quote from The New York Times. - But it did... Intro by Henk Ruyssenaars FPF - 4 September 2007 - A majority of the Americans - 52% in August 2007 - now understands the controlled demolition of the World Trade Center buildings in New York on 9/11 in 2001 was an 'inside job' by the US junta. But the massacre by the evildoers is much bigger than the three thousand people which the US junta killed that ominous day. Asbestos poisoning will kill many more: 9/11 is a bigger tragedy than many think. And worse than a lot of people can imagine or dare say. On Febr. 22nd in 2005, Robert Scheer in the Los Angeles Times had an article* about the so called 'Tort reform', the illegal fabrication of laws in such a way that the Bush administration and it's ruling multinationals could severely limit the amount of the $billion damages that in the future could be collected by those harmed by asbestos exposure. The article was called "Of, by and for Big Business", and in 689 words Scheer explained how the people in the US permanently are screwed by the multinationals. The LA Times as the majority of the media will not complain much more: it has also been bought by 'them', the evildoers, and is thus silenced. "It was well-known by the city of New York that the WTC was an asbestos bombshell. For years, the Port Authority treated the building like an aging dinosaur, attempting on several occasions to get permits to demolish the building for liability reasons, but being turned down due the known asbestos problem. Further, it was well-known the only reason the building was still standing until 9/11 was because it was too costly to disassemble the twin towers floor by floor since the Port Authority was prohibited legally from demolishing the buildings." But Larry Silverstein and the other criminals got richer."* Many have seen him on TV saying they 'pulled' WTC7, building #3. The asbestos drama has a face though, as also is shown in Franklin's story below, because a week ago - according to a TV item in the New York Times* - called "Asbestos, Hidden in Plain Sight", the story is told about Libby, Montana. Reporter Hale: ''Libby, Montana" sets a high bar for itself. An opening voice-over, covering idyllic home-movie scenes of life in the West, proclaims: Either this is the most horrific story I’ve ever heard in my life, or those people are completely crazy. It couldn’t have happened." But it did, like 9/11, and the people are suffering and dying. THE STORY WAS SHOWN ON MOST PBS STATIONS AS PART OF THE DOCUMENTARY SERIES "P.O.V.," AND IS DEFINITELY HORRIFIC. "It is the tale of how an entire town in Montana was exposed to asbestos for decades without its knowledge, resulting at last count in an estimated 1,500 cases of lung abnormalities in a population of about 8,000, and of how W. R. Grace & Company knew the asbestos was there." - Like the complicit humanoids who were in charge in New York knew on 9/11 and thereafter during their cover up, as Franklin writes. It really is too bad to be true, as he shows in his story: "A WAITING NIGHTMARE IN NYC." Franklin's Focus: 9/3/07 - Most of my readers will immediately guess that I'm going to discuss the vast fallout of white powder that descended on most of Manhattan over a period of two or three weeks. That, dear reader, is exactly what I'm going to do, albeit in a highly abbreviated form. Due to the extreme lightness of billowing, lethal, microscopic particles, blanketing Manhattan, they took days and probably weeks to completely settle down on open surfaces or to drift into apartments, stores, offices, taxis, subways, restaurants, bars and so forth. These microscopic particles are of such tiny size, they entered all structures or vehicles whether the windows were tightly closed or not. Only extraordinary sealing could have kept these particles from entering almost all closed spaces. As for migrating into the subways and subway cars, they would have been carried into the stations and subway cars in vast numbers by the clothing of passengers who had been on the streets. Thusly transported by humans, these particles probably eventually contaminated nearly every surface within subway cars, taxis, and buses. Those employees who worked in Manhattan on 9/11 and walked through the thick clouds of dust on that day, carried the particles home with them to contaminate their houses or apartments. In this way, their spouses and children and pets were also contaminated. With taxis and subway trains being contaminated by the clothing of passengers, the deadly particles traveled the rest of the city and even further to suburbs or wherever taxicabs, subways, and trains travel to. In short, a huge number of New York City inhabitants were exposed to a variety of microscopic fibers, all of them belonging to the asbestos family. There are seven members in this family, all of them lethal. A single particle, if breathed in, can kill if it lodges in just the right spot. Since Manhattan was doubtlessly inundated with trillions of such deadly particles, tiny carriers of death that entered countless living, working, and traveling spaces used by the people of that city. It is, therefore, a near certainty that huge numbers of New Yorkers have been infected by members of a lethal family of microscopic barbed spears. THERE IS NO WAY TO AVOID THE SAD TRUTH THAT COUNTLESS PEOPLE BREATHED IN THESE PARTICLES. What is deeply disturbing is the fact that many of these tiny killers are now waiting silently in the bodies of thousands of New Yorkers, and they will likely kill their hosts. Unfortunately, the current ongoing cover-up will continue since these invisible killers will rarely be named as the cause of death. You see, the seven members of the asbestos family almost always kill anonymously because the media and even medicine in America have colluded to hide the truth. Consider mesothelioma, a disease caused by asbestos fibers. This is a devastating cancer that inflicts a death far more painful and ugly than the worst cases of death by HIV. This condition is a ticking time bomb, and when it goes off, it can do so with surprising rapidity. Depending on the form it takes, a victim may die relatively soon or may linger through years of pain and suffering. Will the death certificate list asbestos as the cause? No, dear reader. Be advised that it will list mesothelioma as the cause of death, and corporate America's deadly secret will go on and on. MILLIONS OF AMERICANS TODAY HAVE TICKING ASBESTOS TIME BOMBS IN THEIR BODIES THAT WILL EVENTUALLY KILL THEM. By the year 2030, as many as five million Americans will be facing a variety of ugly, prolonged, and devastating years of suffering before succumbing. And most of these ill fated Americans will go on believing they are dying purely from cancer rather than assigning blame to the agent that caused the cancer. [Cancer specialists, oncologists at the Radboud University Medical Center in The Netherlands, confirm that at present - mostly due to the heavy pollution - one in two men, and one in three women dies of cancer. - HR] The fallout of deadly particles in New York City was so massive, and rescue workers were so heavily contaminated, many deaths in New York will not wait that long. They will start dying relatively soon. The immediate family members who have been contaminated by them may take longer, maybe ten to twenty years. According to one scientist, as many as ten percent of those who were heavily exposed to the most dense clouds of deadly dust on 9/11 will die. No matter how you guesstimate the end result, it will be an enormous tragedy. Once the three WTC buildings were blown up, thusly creating vast clouds of powder high in the air and drifting over nearly all of Manhattan, experts at the Environmental Protection Agency instantly knew they were confronting a monumental health disaster. How did they know this? They knew because they had criminally allowed the builders of the three towers to use hundreds of tons of asbestos fibers to construct them. One of the most heavily used asbestos fibers was chrysotile. It densely impregnated 8.5 million square feet of the floor tiling in the three buildings. Asbestos fibers were used in decorative finishes and in the structural steel of the towers. It was used in the lobbies and the elevator shafts and the drywall. It was massively used in the foundation concrete. To top it off, the interior walls were painted with an asbestos paint. MICROSCOPIC DEADLY FIBERS EXPELLED OVER MANHATTAN Here's a big clinker: asbestos fibers are scientifically classified as 'friable'. This means they invariably shed themselves loose from the products they are used in. They were almost certainly shedding at the time the buildings blew up. A catastrophic release of trillions of fibers occurred following the massive detonations of the three towers. One scientific estimate of the amount of microscopic deadly fibers expelled over Manhattan was one thousand tons! The figures become astronomical. A massive use of asbestos saturated many of the materials used to build the towers. This was well known to the city officials of NYC. America's leading expert on asbestos and its carnage in America is Dr. Irving Selikoff, the man who is number one on the hate list of W. R. Grace and every other giant American corporation that produces and sells asbestos products in the US and to third world countries. Selikoff visited the WTC sites during construction and was appalled by the vast use of materials containing huge amounts of tremolite fiber, and the billowing clouds of construction-caused dust that was enveloping the workers. He subsequently declared at a conference that over 100 tons of fiber would ultimately be released into the air of NYC just during the construction. His warnings were ignored by NYC officials and by the EPA. All those scientists familiar with asbestos fibers and the already high asbestos death toll in America and who saw the explosions of the towers on TV immediately got on the phone and began voicing warnings to NYC officials and the EPA. Among these callers was America's finest and largest team of asbestos detection experts, a Montana group that possesses the biggest number of suitable testing machines in the US that are capable of detecting asbestos fiber. They instantly offered a large team of testing experts and a large number of hi-tech testing machines to serve Whitman and NYC officials. They wanted to immediately fly in private jets to NYC with teams of experts and the finest testing equipment available. They begged NYC officials and Whitman to be allowed to immediately fly to NYC and start testing and to start advising New Yorkers what to do. THEY WERE STONEWALLED BY WHITMAN AND GIULIANI, BOTH OF WHOM SEEMED DETERMINED TO COVER UP THE ONGOING PUBLIC HEALTH DISASTER. NOT TOXIC OR DANGEROUS Christine Todd Whitman, the head of the EPA, which is headquartered in NYC, was quickly on the scene. She and just about everybody at the EPA knew an epic crisis was immediately at hand. Whitman first assured the people of New York that the powder laden air at the disaster scene was not toxic or dangerous. She then immediately ordered that the very best hi-tech testing equipment available be used to decontaminate the EPA headquarters building in NYC! As for the rest of NYC, she told the people of New York that they should seek guidance from NYC health officials. Since NYC health officials had been told by Whitman and the EPA that the white powder was harmless, the Health Department then told the residents of at least 15,000 Manhattan apartments, which were by then contaminated with white powder, to simply 'use a wet sponge' to clean up their apartments and not to worry. Whitman and her EPA criminal associates ensconced themselves in the EPA building as soon as it had been decontaminated. Under orders from Whitman, employees began testing the disaster site for asbestos fibers in the air and on surfaces. One small catch, tho! She ordered that this be done only with outdated equipment that could not possibly detect asbestos fibers! In short, the whole testing process was a deliberate farce by Whitman and the EPA. Why did she do this? I can only surmise she was running a cover-up, and it was necessary to use testing equipment that would come up with zero evidence of deadly fibers. SO MUCH COVERING UP IN AMERICA, AND SO LITTLE TIME FOR UNCOVERING. By the way, she has denied ever saying that the massive clouds of "dust" at the site were harmless. She made this denial in testimony before Congress. Haw! She made her assurances that the clouds of dust at the site were harmless while standing before a TV camera. I've seen the film clip. She lied to Congress, and was never nailed for doing so, when all they had to do was to produce the film during the hearings. So much for congressional hearings. How is it that the vast mining of asbestos ores in the US still continues? How is it that a friable substance impregnates over 3,000 products in America? How is it that all the European nations have absolutely banned the use of any member of the asbestos family, but the US does not do so? How is possible that nearly the entire population of the town of Libby, Montana*, is now dying of asbestos caused diseases when the EPA knew long ago that those people were being murdered by the nearby W. R. Grace mining operation. Children, men, women, seniors --- almost every last one of them is dying. What we are seeing is run amok, predatory, corrupt, heartless corporate capitalism at its very worst. Every member of Congress knows asbestos kills hundreds of thousands of Americans and is well on its way to killing millions. And yes, the DLC corporate controlled Dems surely know all about asbestos, how much is being mined, how many corporations use it in their products, and the fact that it is killings hundreds of thousands of Americans. Be aware that your vote for either wing of The Party has always helped protect asbestos mining and the deadly use of asbestos in thousands of products. A neighbor lady just informed me that her father is dying of cancer. I asked what he had done for a living. She said he had been a mechanic, more specifically a brake man. Well, that surely is a deadly occupation. Brake linings are packed with asbestos fibers. In this case, the doctor informed the dying man that asbestos fibers from brake linings had condemned him to a slow, ugly death. As I see it, corporate America and its flunkies in Congress have murdered this man. ALREADY THE ROMAN EMPIRE WAS FAMILIAR WITH THE DANGERS OF ASBESTOS Here's something else for you to think about. How long have we known that asbestos is really bad stuff? Try guessing. Now hold on to your hat. Among the greatest engineers in the history of the world, we have to include the brilliant engineers of the Roman Empire. And guess what? It so happens they were very familiar with asbestos. They knew it has enormous tensile strength. They knew it was fireproof. And they knew it was waterproof. So why did such great engineers refuse to use it in their mind boggling, famous constructions? Believe it or not, they knew asbestos was deadly stuff and refused to touch it. Knowledge is great, but greed is greater. I wish I could leave you with a long bibliography so you could further look into this mega-scandal, but very little has been written about it in books and almost nothing in the major media. Even the Net has been weak in this department. Most notably, the corporate major media have been lying for decades by telling Americans that asbestos was banned years ago by the federal government. I kid you not. When asked in a poll, most Americans will say that the government banned asbestos a long time ago. I suppose these are the same guys who say Iraq was responsible for 9/11. Sigh. 'gestemd' over het plan om in alle landen van de EU een 'winstgevende postale dienst' in het leven te roepen. Deze dienst - en daar ligt de nadruk op - moet winst opleveren. Anders moeten de mensen in de respectievelijke landen dat met belastinggeld compenseren. De plannen kregen verder vorm op 10 Juli j.l. in Brussel en de dag erna in Straatsburg, toen tijdens een plenaire zitting van het Europa parlement. Tijdens het debat werden de gebruikelijke verschonende leugens gespuid, en zei ondermeer rapporteur Markus Ferber (EVP-ED, DE): "Gedurende meer dan 200 jaar zijn er postmonopolies geweest. Maar monopolies zijn niet in staat de problemen op te lossen waar de postdiensten zich nu voor geplaatst zien. Die problemen kunnen alleen worden opgelost indien er eerlijke concurrentie is, die de wettelijke bepalingen omtrent werk en arbeidsomstandigheden in acht neemt."* Dit is natuurlijk weer volledige kletskoek, en wat leugenaars als Ferber menen als ze het over ''eerlijke concurrentie die de wettelijke bepalingen omtrent werk en arbeidsomstandigheden in acht neemt'' hebben, dat weten de mensen al jaren lang. Alle met veel moeite en miljarden aan belastinggeld opgebouwde posterijen, de PTT's in de landen van het Europese handelsblok EU gaan op de schop en moeten winstgevend worden, vindt de EU leiding. Over service, dienstverlening dus, wordt niet direct gesproken, maar wel wordt er gezegd dat bijvoorbeeld landen met veel eilanden - zoals het mooie Griekenland, of de Shetland eilanden - extra kosten gaan krijgen. EN WIE GAAT DIE EXTRA KOSTEN EN WINSTEN VOOR DIT OPGELEGDE POSTALE SYSTEEM BETALEN? De belastingbetaler in de 'Europese Unie' landen natuurlijk. Het is de bedoeling dat alle PTT's vóór 31 December 2010 hun 'monopolies' hebben geëlimineerd. De z.g. Europese Commissie had trouwens 1 Januari 2009 voorgesteld. De plannen zijn dus nu om dit twee jaar later te realiseren, en dan worden al deze nog bestaande ''monopolies'' voor de Europese Unie gebundeld tot één groot monopolie voor een paar multinationals die binnen de Europese Unie opereren. Letterlijk opereren, maar jammer genoeg gaan er miljoenen mensen dood aan soortgelijke operaties als er winst gemaakt moet worden. Kijk maar 's naar Irak of Afghanistan. OM HET WINSTGEVEND TE MAKEN - WANT DAAR GAAT HET TENSLOTTE OM - ZIJN HET NATUURLIJK MULTINATIONALE ONDERNEMINGEN DIE DIT MONOPOLIE OP ''DE VRIJE MARKT'' MET 'ONZICHTBARE HAND' ZULLEN BESTUREN... Nou, dan weten de mensen het wel. Ze worden bestolen waar ze bij staan en moeten het toch langzaam maar zeker door beginnen te krijgen, zou je zo denken. Dat de mensen niet meteen doorhebben hoe ze worden belazerd ligt trouwens aan de slinkse manier waarop alles wordt gepropageerd door de grote media die hieraan meedoen. De hersenspoeling is permanent, en geeft altijd een verschonende en leugenachtige omschrijving. Net als in de reclame. Eerst kon bijvoorbeeld nog een limiet van 350 gram voor de eigen staatsbezorgdienst van de posterijen worden geaccepteerd, maar die 'reserve' is langzaam teruggedraaid naar 50 gram (1 Januari 2006) en moet nu blijkbaar helemaal verdwijnen. In drie landen is dat al het geval, in Zweden, Finland en het Verenigde Koninkrijk, en is de post - zoals dat in Newspeak heet: "volledig geliberaliseerd". Hetgeen altijd een eufemisme is voor winstgevend. Mocht iemand familie, vrienden of kennissen in die landen hebben, vraag dan 's waarom de gewone postbezorging zoveel slechter en duurder is geworden. Zelf zag ik in Zweden de postbezorging van drie naar 1 per dag teruglopen, van zes naar vijf dagen in de week, en de zweedse uitdrukking voor 'stelligheid': "Som ett brev på posten." 'Zeker als 'n brief op de post', die uitdrukking is ook zogoed als verdwenen... 'SERVICE' WORDT GEKOCHT EN ALLEEN VERLEEND ALS DIE PROFIJT OPLEVERT Onder de kop "De markten openen" - en dat klinkt weer zo lekker positief - had de EU al voor de postale service 'directieven' (97/67/EC) in de trant van Fritz Bolkestein gekozen. Dat we dat niet wisten is logisch, want de overname van dit hele ''monopolie'' is gelogen en bedrogen natuurlijk. Net als 99% van alle schijnheilige gewauwel in Brussel en Straatsburg over die z.g. ''universal service'', waarbij alleen de winst voor de privé-ondernemers die dit weer flikken - 'universal' is. Service, dus dienstverlening aan de burgers, is er heus niet bij. Wat de propagandisten ook beweren. Service krijg je alleen als je ervoor kunt betalen. In buurland Duitsland is het de 'Deutsche Post' die 'geliberaliseerd' wordt door collaboratrice Angela Merkel c.s. En in de dagelijkse uitverkoop in Nederland door de VS/GB junta's Balkenende en SHELL-Bos, met de kwalijke rest van het collaborerende politieke personeel in Den Haag en de media van de multinationals, gaat de post allang dezelfde slechte kant op. De PTT die met belastinggeld was opgebouwd en miljarden waard was wordt nu - na een aantal toeren om het spoor bijster te raken - winstgevend gerund door Sandd, Selekt Mail, en TNT Post etc. CAO's EN ANDERE CONDITIES In Brussel - en soms als ze even naar Straatsburg verkassen, wat trouwens een waanzinnige geldverkwisting is - beweren de figuren in dit 'Postcomité' van de EU landen die ze verwacht worden te vertegenwoordigen - maar dat niet kunnen doen, alhoewel ze er niets van zeggen - dat er ''garanties'' moeten zijn en onderhandelingen over CAO's, de collectieve arbeidsvoorwaarden. ''Daar mag niet aan getornd worden'', zeggen ze tegen beter weten in. Of ze liegen zoals zo dikwijls gewoonweg ronduit. Zélf hebben deze z.g. 'volksvertegenwoordigers' overigens allemaal een uitermate riant pensioen, ook van belastinggelden. Werkloos zijn ze nooit meer op dat riool-niveau: daar drijft altijd wel iets rond... Maar, waar alle werklozen die naarstig op zoek zijn naar werk dat kunnen vinden, dat wordt er niet bij verteld. In elk geval moet voor de werknemers die overblijven binnen de ''Europese Unie Post'' tenminste symbolisch worden gesproken over 'de maximale werkperioden' en 't 'het minimumloon'. Niet het maximumloon? Men zegt dat de werknemers - net als de Europarlementariërs - ook recht moeten hebben op betaalde vakantie, en dat er gesproken moet worden over de gezondheidszorg, de veiligheid en dat soort mensenrechten. Dat is er eerlijk gezegd in Bolkestein's Europa nog nooit van gekomen, en zal er heus niet van komen, want dat kost alleen maar geld. En dat gaat van de winst af. COMPROMISES OUR CAPACITY TO RESIST TYRANNY Fetzer, a former Marine Corps officer, observes that the privatization of military force has created a new problem for the citizens of this nation. "In the past, we have had confidence that the US military, our national guard, our local police and armed citizens had the combined ability to withstand threats to our liberty from our own government. But our military is broken, the National Guard has been placed under the President's control, and our access to ammunition now appears to be being cut off, which compromises our capacity to resist tyranny." That our level of engagement in Iraq cannot be continued has been conveyed by many sources. Associated Press reporter Lolita C. Baldor (August 19, 2007) has written that our level of engagement in Iraq cannot be sustained. "Sapped by nearly six years of war, the Army has nearly exhausted its fighting force and its options if the Bush administration decides to extend the Iraq buildup beyond next year." Many general officers and National Guard commanders have said similar things, but the effects of a depleted military may have unexpected ramifications. THE US IS THE MOST HEAVILY ARMED NATION IN THE WORLD An article by Reuters (August 26, 2007) confirms that the US is the most heavily armed nation in the world, with 90 guns per 100 people. According to a Small Arms Survey conducted by the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, each year about 4.5 million of some 8 million new rifles, shotguns and hardguns are sold to US citizens, who own about 270 million of the world's 875 million known firearms. "Ordinarily, I would consider this to be a source of security," Fetzer observed, "but the Second Amendment is meaningless if our access to ammunition is cut off." Fetzer was recently startled to read in The Capital Times (August 28, 2007) that police departments across the country are so starved for ammunition that they are resorting to target practice with paint-ball guns. "This is quite shocking," he said. "Most police ammunition is .38 and 9mm caliber, not the kind that our military requires. The profit margin on the sale and manufacture of bullets is so great and the demand is so strong that it is difficult to imagine how this could happen absent a deliberate policy to curtail access to ammo. Without bullets, those vast stocks of weapons are useless. This appears to be a very clever, insidious plan." Other developments raise Fetzer's concern, including a report (wesh.com, August 22, 2007) that members of the 1st Battalion, 265th Air Defense Artillery are being deployed from Florida to the nation's capital for a year's duty, "where they will operate high-tech weapons systems against any potential air threat." As I said, Chertoff and his "Homeland Security" really is very bad for humanity: they use every possible way of spying, blackmail and intimidation and use the law against the people it is supposed to defend. Douglas The departure of Alberto Gonzales from the Attorney General's Office brings America to a place of definitions, and hanging in the balance is the very idea of the nation itself. The basic concepts and fundamental principles of our republic now stand as the only legitimate considerations going forward, for they have been tested almost to annihilation already, and will not endure much longer if we continue on this path. It is the mythology within the Declaration of Independence we speak of, the fiction that tells us we are endowed with rights, and that those rights are unalienable. This falsehood has been vividly exposed in the last several years, and it has been a harsh lesson indeed. All the rights we hold dear and believe to be our greatest strength are, in fact, only words on old paper with neither force nor power. The next line - "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed" - is the muscle behind the myth, the core that has endured a withering assault. Matters are so much worse than our national political dialogue lets on. The resignation of Gonzales has unleashed a torrent of hard words and harsh criticisms aimed at the deplorable nature of his tenure, but the truth of it continues to elude mention. They call Gonzales an incompetent, a crony, a loyalist, a disgrace, leaving off the one word necessary to fully explain who he is, and what he was engaged in before he stepped down. ALBERTO GONZALES IS A TRAITOR. THAT IS THE ONLY WORD TO EXPLAIN IT. He is not the only one; there are many more traitors like him in the Bush administration, criminals joined in an act of treason so vast and comprehensive that it beggars comparison. Nothing quite like this has ever before been attempted in America, and if they are allowed to succeed, there will be nothing of what defines America left to be seen. Gonzales and his Bush administration collaborators have committed their treason against the rule of law itself, a crime so absolute that it is technically not illegal. There is no code, ordinance or law specifically forbidding the total ruination of all our rights and protections; the act is neither felony nor misdemeanor, because nobody ever considered the black-letter necessity of making it illegal to destroy the rule of law. But there is no America without that rule of law - no rights, no protections, no Constitution; there is nothing, and if you destroy the rule of law, you destroy the idea that is America itself. The only word for a crime like that is treason, and those who would dare commit it are traitors. Gonzales and his Bush administration collaborators have done more than dare. They have been pursuing it, with deliberation and intent, throughout each moment of their tenure. Their treason is not in the actual crimes they have committed, but in the way they have chosen to avoid accountability for them. Their treason is not their refusal to obey the Freedom of Information Act, but in their insistence that they are above the application of that law. Their treason is not in their refusal to obey subpoenas from Congress, but in their claim that they are above the laws behind those subpoenas. Their treason is not that they fired United States attorneys and then refused to come clean about it, but that they decimated the impartiality of the Department of Justice and turned the rule of law into another partisan weapon. Their treason is not the NSA surveillance of Americans, but their steadfast refusal to submit to the governing laws and the requirement of oversight. AN ACT OF TREASON BECAUSE IT SHATTERED THE RULE OF LAW When George W. Bush asserted a claim of Executive Privilege that made him and his administration immune to all laws and oversight, that was an act of treason because it shattered the rule of law. When Dick Cheney asserted that the Office of the Vice President was not part of the Executive Branch, because he did not want to obey the laws requiring him to hand over official documents to the Archives, that was an act of treason because it shattered the rule of law. When Alberto Gonzales chose to surrender the independence of the Department of Justice so he could protect those assertions, that was an act of treason because it shattered the rule of law. Americans have only the rights they are able to protect and defend. Our rights are nothing more than ideas; only theory and argument on parchment all too easily burned to ashes. The power of those rights is only found in our collective submission to the rule of law, and submission to that rule of law is all that stands between our freedoms and the conflagration of tyranny. Without the rule of law, there is no America. That is the treason of Alberto Gonzales, and the treason of the Bush administration entire. They have attacked and undercut the rule of law by refusing to submit to it, and in doing so have brought us to the edge of appalling infamy. Theirs is a crime without peer, and we will be fortunate beyond measure if we are able to recover from it. The fact that Alberto Gonzales has left is meaningless in the main, because the treason he participated in continues in his absence. If the damage is to be repaired, he must be replaced by someone who will submit to the main imperative, someone who will submit to the rule of law, someone with real independence and unbending respect for the idea that is America. Gonzales must not be replaced by another crony or yes-man, because Americans have only those rights we can protect and defend, and another traitor in that lofty post is no protection at all. Gonzales was more than a poor steward of this trust. He was a traitor among traitors. If the rule of law is to stand, the treason he helped commit must be ended, and a patriot must take his place. Henk Ruyssenaars - Foreign correspondent FPF - August 28 - 2007 - This article concerns the question how corporate America minimized the showing of Michael Moore's film 'Sicko' in the US. And immediately Moore's consternation came to mind when he found out that he - as an American - had to smuggle out his own movie in advance to Cannes for the annual film festival. As if it concerned a controversial item of the underground press, the 'samizdat' in the former Soviet Union, the US junta in its 'protectorates' will try to sabotage 'Sicko' too, it can be expected. Yesterday, during a press conference at the Sarajevo Film Festival, Moore said a lot of things, but it made quite an impression when he told the audience that since he made the films he was awarded for, he has been receiving threats from all sides. He almost canceled his trip to Sarajevo. Somebody had broken into his home the night before he was leaving. He cannot walk the streets peacefully for years now. ''People shout at me, some want to beat me up. There were real attacks and I even had coffee spilt on me in the street,'' he said. SMUGGLING 'SICKO' OUT OF THE US Moore told the story earlier, confirming that it came as a shock to the people around him and himself: "Preemptive action taken by the Bush administration on the eve of the "Sicko" premiere in Cannes led our attorneys to fear for the safety of our film, noting that Secretary Paulson may try to claim that the content of the movie was obtained through a violation of the trade embargo that our country has against Cuba and the travel laws that prohibit average citizens of our free country from traveling to Cuba. (The law does not prohibit anyone from exercising their first amendment right of a free press and documentaries are protected works of journalism.) I was floored when our lawyers told me this. "Are you saying they might actually confiscate our movie?" "Yes," was the answer. "These days, anything is possible. Can someone please tell me why? Did Dr Rachesky purchase the stock for controlling interests in Lions Gate? Controlling Interest is when the parent company owns a majority of the common stock that allows the shareholder major influence on the company. Normally for one to obtain controlling interests in a company one would purchase at least 51% of all shares however, in some cases a single entity can essentially maintain control with only 33.4% of the outstanding shares. Ironically, this is the exact percentage of shares purchased by Dr. Rachesky. LEFT BROKE BY MEDICAL BILLS EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE FULLY INSURED In the film SICKO Michael Moore turns his attentions toward the topic of health care in the United States in this documentary that weighs the plight of the uninsured against the record profits of the pharmaceutical & insurance industries. Moore interviews a number of people who have been left broke by medical bills even though they were fully insured, and explains how the corporate drive for profits has left numerous people in financial and medical disarray. After hearing that detainees in Guantanamo have access to free health care, Moore assembles a group of World Trade Center rescue workers to travel to Cuba in order to get the medical help they need for ailments they incurred in 2001. There are many debates and arguments as the the accuracy of Moore's film. Henk Ruyssenaars - Foreign correspondent FPF - 23 August 2007 - The New York Times - one of the plutocratic warmongers major and compliant propaganda media - today for the umpteenth time proofs - to anybody who can stomach the NYT's lies at breakfast - Bush's imperial madness and denial: "President Bush delivered a rousing defense of his Iraq policy on Wednesday, telling a group of veterans that "a free Iraq" is within reach and warning that if Americans succumb to "the allure of retreat," they will witness death and suffering of the sort not seen since the Vietnam War." according to the NYTimes. Three reporters (plus some editors) were apparently needed to brew this stew of lies together!* One can wonder what kind of (screened) 'veterans' those have been, and from which wars? But we can be sure that the bad geniuses behind the 'sell out' group of text writers who make Bush read this from his text machine, his prompter, want the denial to exist in the feeble brains of those which still swallow the media manure. The millions of dead Vietnamese, Cambodians, Laotians etc. don't count, nor do apparently the up to sixty thousand (60.000) dead soldiers in US uniforms. Today, according to the NYT: "the administration is planning to make public parts of a sober new report by American intelligence agencies expressing deep doubts that the Maliki government can overcome sectarian differences. Government officials who have seen the report say it gives a bleak outlook on the chances Mr. Maliki can meet milestones intended to promote unity in Iraq." Meaning in reality: How do we get rid of Maliki? Already on Wednesday (disgusting) Hillary Clinton in New York called for Mr. Maliki to quit. But pro-forma Bush says he still likes him: "Prime Minister Maliki is a good guy, a good man with a difficult job," Bush said, "and I support him." It's a good sign however that also the NYT has to write that: "military audiences are generally safe for Mr. Bush.", implying that Bush's world is getting very small, and he can't walk a meter without guards anymore. Ook de Middeleeuwse martelingen die Nederland - ondanks de geratificeerde Folterwet - goed blijkt te keuren en er niets over zegt. Het is bijna niet te behappen, maar - ook Nederlandse - soldaten die door de propaganda niet beter weten, gaan als kanonnenvoer de oorlog en hun doodvonnis door radioactieve (DU) straling [http://www.rense.com/general77/radiol.htm] of de kogel tegemoet. En dat voor de economische belangen van anderen? Zonder enige oorlogsverklaring of dreiging? En zonder enig debat in de Kamer, zoals de Grondwet dat vereist? Het is allemaal totaal illegaal, schandalig en ongrondwettelijk, maar de media liegen maar door. En Freriks via de NOS en soortgelijke NSB'ers, (Nederland Steunt Bush), berichten over het vertrek of de aankomst van de overlevenden zonder ook maar een kritisch woord of 'n behoorlijke vraag te stellen. Zelfs een debat over de ergste oorlogsmisdaden waar we medeschuldig aan worden gemaakt kan er niet af: ook niet in de - zoals wordt beweerd - parlementaire vertegenwoordiging, de Kamer of Senaat. Waar betalen we ons personeel eigenlijk voor? Die landverraders! Maar ook de NVJ zwijgt dus, en steunt de oorlogshetzers. Dat heet overigens: hij of zij is 'radioactief' in die kringen, zo werd me verteld. Maar wie van de collegae in de media reageerde er dan wél? Nou, 99% hield de bek dicht - ook al die verlogen huichelaars van het 'College van Hoofdredacteuren' - en zeiden 'dat het niet hun tafel was'. En dat zijn dan dezelfde figuren die je veertig jaar lang vriendelijk hebben gevraagd en betaald voor je onafhankelijke beoordelingen als correspondent in verschillende 'buitenlanden'? Die zeiden 'trots op je te zijn' omdat de BBC en CBS ook hadden gevraagd of je voor ze wilde werken? Stelletje... Het is dus nu een globaal sterk groeiend en uitermate kwalijk verschijnsel geworden dat de meestal gratis gepubliceerde artikelen, de ingezonden mededelingen en teksten, foto's en videos die niet positief zijn t.o.v. de illegale oorlogen en invasies door illegale 'machthebbers' worden 'gestript' van Internet. Die 'andere' informatie mogen de mensen niet zien: de OW'ers maken via hun media-propagandisten wel uit wat ze moeten zien. Zij bepalen wat 'de werkelijkheid' is. De matrix voor de mensen. Alle kritiek moet worden weggehaald, want daarmee hopen de managers van de 'webstrippers' dat ook de mogelijkheid verdwijnt om mensen aan het denken te zetten. Wat hun ogen niet zien, zal hun hart niet deren, denken de censoren. En mensen die tegen de woekerzaken van de plutocraten en de oorlogen zijn, mensen die tóch alternative informatie proberen te publiceren, die moeten worden 'geneutraliseerd'. Hun websites gesloten en hun teksten vernietigd. En wees er maar zeker van dat ook in Nederland, in dit door de vossen en hun meeheulende media redelijk rustig gehouden kippenhok, alles en iedereen van belang voor de oorlogswinsten en 'het beheersen van de meute', moet meehuilen met de wolven in het bos. Anders gaan ze eraan. De critici van het huidige en oneerlijke Balkenende-bewind worden op alle gebieden geneutraliseerd, 'kalltgestellt' door ze 'radioactief' te verklaren, en krijgen 'n beroepsverbod. Die mensen - hoe goed en eerlijk ze ook mogen zijn - die komen niet meer aan de bak, ze worden zoveel mogelijk sociaal en soms ook economisch 'dood' gemaakt, en kunnen dus amper worden gehoord zolang de huidige collaborateurs in de media de orders opvolgen van hun managers. 'Befehl' is nog altijd 'Befehl' voor dat soort. Er is weliswaar nog steeds 't Internet en alle alternatieve mogelijkheden, maar door speciale 'cyberwereld verziekers' worden steeds meer critici tot zwijgen gebracht omdat hun blogs en artikelen 'verdwijnen'. Dezelfde 'mensachtigen' die de illegale oorlogen en daarmee hun woekerpraktijken 'runnen' zijn meestal ook onderdeel van de groep multinationals, de eigenaren van de Internet-servers die de critici nog wel moeten toelaten. Er zijn nog te grote economische belangen mee gemoeid. En bovendien: op deze manier 'vang' je wel overal ter wereld alle mensen die op Internet zitten, en die schrijven het niet met de moordende gang van zaken eens zijn... Dikwijls met naam en toenaam, en altijd met hun IP-adres. De cyberwereld wordt dus - met goedkeuring van ons politieke personeel en 'n zwijgende NVJ - steeds kleiner door hun censuur. En op 't laatst, als we niet ingrijpen, dan zullen bijvoorbeeld de nieuwe Apartheids-identiteitsbewijzen gebruikt moeten worden als een soort 'rijbewijs' (maar kijk 's naar de controle!) om op een ander Internet te kunnen komen. Er wordt door ons personeel een wetje gemaakt, en iedereen zal moeten overschakelen, en, na natuurlijk wel eerst opnieuw geregistreerd te zijn, door de 'machthebbers' eventueel goedgekeurd te worden. Macht die nu tégen de mensen die niet 'meehuilen met de wolven in het bos' wordt gebruikt. En dan kun je wel nagaan wie er niet goedgekeurd wordt, en dus geen Internet-ID krijgt... Of als je zonder ID wordt aangehouden (zei er iemand 'Apartheid'?) dan is de juridische 'Foutcode" zoals zij dat noemen: D517. Het zijn echt vuilakken, 't zijn échte roofmoordenaars waar we mee te doen hebben, en de fout die we dikwijls nog maken is dat wij ons wél aan 'God en Gebod' houden. Daar moeten we maar even snel mee ophouden, want 'zij' doen dat nooit. Never! Ook in Nederland, en omdat zoveel NSB'ers meewerkten, hebben we nu 'Apartheid' en "Der Feind hört mit!" En wie zijn dan de vijanden? Dat zijn degenen die schuldig zijn aan alle massamoorden, de 'mensachtigen' en hun meelopers die ons bloed in hun goud veranderen.* Dat moeten we echt snel veranderen! UIT DE WEG GERUIMD In de ergste gevallen worden wetenschappers, politici, andere meelopers of tegenstanders en kritische journalisten gewoonweg uit de weg geruimd. Overal ter wereld. In de VS, de Verenigde Politiestaten, was zover als bekend onderzoekend journalist en jurist Paul Sandford een van de laatsten die naar men zei 'van het dak sprong'. Maar hij deed dit wel zonder te kunnen vliegen en werd gewoonweg 'geneutraliseerd'.* Denkende mensen geloven nog steeds dat Sandford een van de velen is die werden 'gezelfmoord'. Daar waren er trouwens ook veel bij die 'zelfmoord' pleegden - dat kan dus niet - met meerdere schoten in het hoofd. Maar dat zeiden de media... In Nederland was het bijvoorbeeld o.a. Pim Fortuyn* die met professionele 'Hollow Point' kogels uit de weg werd geruimd, en, zover als ik het zelf ter plekke langdurig heb onderzocht en blijf onderzoeken, de bij de mensen als goed bekend staande onderzoekend journalist en researcher Louis Sévèke. Hij werd 'geliquideerd' (Elsevier*) op 15 November 2005 in Nijmegen.* De door de SHELL/PvdA benoemde 'Burgermoeder' Guusje ter Horst kreeg weliswaar een politiekogel thuis gestuurd om haar ontbijt wat op te fleuren tijdens het Sévèke 'onderzoek', maar werd door 'haar mensen' beloond en kreeg de met onze afgeperste belastingen betaalde 'topjob' als minister van binnenlandse zaken. De deksel op de doofpot door iemand die van wanten weet?* OVERAL TER WERELD GEÏNFILTREERD Onafhankelijke en 'vrije' informatie op Internet wordt daarom bestreden door grote, en voor dit Judaswerk betaalde groepen en de z.g. 'trolls' die al jaren lang en met honderden miljoenen dollars worden betaald om 'dissidenten' van het web te krijgen en monddood te maken door hun artikelen en - zoals ze hopen te bereiken - 'hen' te laten verwijnen. Straks heb je nog een speciale 'resistance'-site van de 'Dwaze Moeders van Internet' die hun verloren dochters en zonen zoeken... Neem bijvoorbeeld de eerder opgerichte alternatieve informatiebron Indymedia: die is ook - net zoals veel anderen - overal ter wereld geïnfiltreerd. Dat is enerzijds logisch, want het hoofd van de veiligheidsdienst in de respectievelijke landen binnen de VS/GB junta 'interesse-sfeer' zou ontslagen worden als dat infiltreren niet werd gedaan. Uit eigen ervaring weet ik dat Indymedia.nl in Nederland 'doodziek' is wat dit betreft, en dat blijkbaar 'Indymedia Cemab' in België bezig is met 'n inhaalslag. Jammer maar waar. Italië moest het - net zoals Beiroet in Libanon - laten afweten en verdween uit de cyberlucht, zoals zoveel anderen. In Nederland 'rekwireerde' de AIVD - en volledig illegaal - minstens 25.000 IP-adressen van iedereen die de permanent door de AIVD gecontroleerde Louis Sévèke website bezocht, en in Engeland namen criminele collaborateurs van de 'money makers' hele servers van Indymedia mee. Zo zijn er duizenden voorbeelden. Het goede nieuws is dat zowel Indymedia Zuid-Afrika en Indymedia Antwerpen weer kunnen publiceren. 'Dissidenten' worden daarentegen in de multinational's media 'afgeknepen' en monddood of letterlijk dood gemaakt. Oorlogscorrespondenten en andere journalisten die het eerlijk menen worden afgeschoten als ze - net als alle andere weldenkende mensen - het logischerwijze niet eens zijn met de allesvernietigende slachtingen en roofmoord die miljoenen mensen doodmaakt en onnoemelijk veel leed veroorzaakt. Eerlijke mensen die wél vragen wilden stellen en eerlijk vertelden wat er aan de hand was. Die hele verderfelijke kudde propaganda-lafaards die nu op TV, de radio of in de oorlogshetzende kranten zoals de NRC verschijnt - met 'n paar alibi-idioten die even wat anders mogen publiceren - die hele beschamende zooi minkukels moet ook het gevang in en hun bezit verbeurd verklaard. En snel, als het even kan. Want wat die voor een handvol zilverlingen doen: zichzelf en hun eer en geweten verkopen, dat is om je voor dood te schamen. Deden ze dat trouwens maar. Daarom willen die oorlogscriminelen en hun laffe meelopers zoveel mogelijk en overal eerlijke informatie en kritiek wegcensureren: na het Neurenberg Oorlogsmisdaden Tribunaal werden ze voor dit soort Judaswerk opgehangen. | Heeft U het ook gelezen? Want de premie ziektekosten stijgt, zo wist het Algemeen Dagblad gisteren te melden. Daarmee alweer de roofmoord bevestigend die de 'zorg' verzekeringsmaatschappijen en hun internationale opdrachtgevers in de bankwereld ook op Nederland plegen. Diefstal en bedrog in de .z.g. 'bouwfraude' leverde toch ook tussen 15 en 25 Miljard op? Zoals Zembla gisteren berekende.* Henk Ruyssenaars FPF - 20 Augustus 2007 - Volgens het gisteren gepubliceerde artikel in 't AD gaan de 'premies' voor de jaarlijkse ziektenkosten minstens met zo'n vijftig (50) euro omhoog voor iedereen. En de mensen die z.g. 'aanvullende polisen' hebben (dat is ook een zwendel) zullen weer behoorlijk meer moeten dokken. Of ze willen of niet. Dat is eerlijk gezegd gewoonweg roofmoord, omdat de doorsnee Nederlander toch al zeventien procent (17%) van de door hen betaalde hoogste belastingen ter wereld aan sociale lasten af moet dragen. En de armen kunnen verrekken? Want er is op aandringen van de managers van Balkenende en z'n oorlogscriminele ploeg een procent armen per jaar erbij gekomen. Volgens het Centraal Bureau voor Statistiek (CBS) zitten we nu op ruim een miljoen, d.w.z. zo'n 11 procent armen in 'rijk' Nederland. 'Rijk' voor wie? De smoes die door de zorgkleptocraten* wordt aangevoerd is dat ze: ''zich hebben verkeken op de hoge uitgaven." En dat terwijl iedereen op de beurzen kan zien dat deze roofmoordenaars voor hun banken en aandeelhouders miljardenwinsten maken. En ook al gaat dat zoals altijd over de ruggen van de minderbedeelden, dat maakt deze mensachtige psychopaten absoluut niets uit. Normalerwijze - als er niet zoveel met rotsmoezen en bedrog gestolen zou worden - zoals in de Zembla TV uitzending* van gisteravond over de bouwfraude weer werd bewezen - dan zou niemand in Nederland meer dan 17% hoeven te betalen, zoals economie professor Tinbergen indertijd al zei.* Maar door de algemeen afgekeurde en vijandige overname van het eerder door de mensen met miljarden belastinggeld betaalde en opgebouwde ziekenfonds, is volgens het AD de gemiddelde premie voor een basisverzekering nu al minstens 1147 euro. Allemaal bovenop de toch al betaalde belastingen, en daar komt dus voor iedereen minimaal weer zo'n vijftig euries bij? Proberen ze uit te vinden waar de pijngrens ligt? Of gaan ze er maar van uit dat Nederlanders meelzakken zijn: die je kunt slaan en slaan, maar die toch nooit rechtop gaan staan? DE Z.G. 'ZORGVERZEKERAARS' ZIJN ASOCIAAL BEZIG: VEEL POLITICI EN MEDIA OOK En wat wordt er nu door de collaborerende 'megafonen van de macht' uitgebazuind? "Een inhaalslag om de tegenvallende resultaten goed te maken, komt bovenop de gewone stijging van de tarieven. Door de vergrijzende bevolking en nieuwe technieken stijgt de zorgconsumptie." zegt Marcel Lever, hoofd afdeling Inkomens en Prijzen van het Centraal Planbureau. "De basisverzekering wordt ongeveer vijftig euro duurder. Omdat de ‘no-claim’ wordt vervangen door een systeem van eigen risico, kunnen de kosten aardig oplopen." volgens Lever. Hem valt het vast niet rauw op de lever, maar die z.g. 'oplopende kosten' worden zoals altijd weer gedragen door wat zij 'het stemvee' noemen. Terwijl veel buitenlanders, ouderen, armen, zieken als de z.g. 'wanbetalers' eruit worden gegooid. Die worden blijkbaar beschouwd als kikkers waar je geen veren van kunt plukken. Voor die mafia tellen mensen niet: dat zijn in hun terminologie 'Kleenexers' - wegwerp artikelen. De enige 'zorg' die deze kleptocratische mafia kent, is de zorg voor zichzelf en hun woekerende aandeelhouders. Eerder heb er al voor gewaarschuwd, met meer feiten in de tekst hieronder. Het aantal door hen denigrerend als 'wanbetalers' beschouwde mensen die hun woekerpremies niet meer kunnen betalen, is overigens tot ruim een miljoen gestegen, nu in Augustus 2007. AMSTERDAM - Ouderen en chronisch zieken die van zorgverzekeraar willen veranderen of hun polis willen aanpassen, worden categorisch geweigerd. Dat geldt voor zowel ziekenfonds- als particulier verzekerden. Dat blijkt uit de eerste resultaten van een meldpunt van de Nederlandse Patiënten en Consumenten Federatie (NPCF). Het meldpunt is sinds 11 december actief en kreeg sindsdien 350 telefoontjes. Zo'n 85 procent van de bellers, voornamelijk ouderen en chronisch zieken, gaven aan grote problemen te ondervinden wanneer zij hun zorgverzekering probeerderden te veranderen. Wikipedia Scanner allegedly shows that workers on the agency's computers made edits to the page of Iran's president. It also purportedly shows that the Vatican has edited entries about Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams. The tool, developed by US researchers, trawls a list of 5.3m edits and matches them to the net address of the editor. Wikipedia is a free online encyclopaedia that can be created and edited by anyone. (Even the CIA? - HR) Most of the edits detected by the scanner correct spelling mistakes or factual inaccuracies in profiles. However, others have been used to remove potentially damaging material or to deface sites. MISTAKEN IDENTITY On the profile of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the tool indicates that a worker on the CIA network reportedly added the exclamation "Wahhhhhh!" before a section on the leader's plans for his presidency. A warning on the profile of the anonymous editor reads: "You have recently vandalised a Wikipedia article, and you are now being asked to stop this type of behaviour." Other changes that have been made are more innocuous, and include tweaks to the profile of former CIA chief Porter Goss and celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey. When asked whether it could confirm whether the changes had been made by a person using a CIA computer, an agency spokesperson responded: "I cannot confirm that the traffic you cite came from agency computers. "I'd like in any case to underscore a far larger and more significant point that no one should doubt or forget: The CIA has a vital mission in protecting the United States, and the focus of this agency is there, on that decisive work." DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS Radio change The site also indicates that a computer owned by the US Democratic Party was used to make changes to the site of right-wing talk show host Rush Limbaugh. The changes brand Mr Limbaugh as "idiotic," a "racist", and a "bigot". An entry about his audience now reads: "Most of them are legally retarded." The IP address is registered in the name of the Democratic National Headquarters. A spokesperson for the Democratic Party said that the changes had not been made on its computers. Instead, they said that the "IP address is the same as the DCCC". The DCCC, or Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, is the "official campaign arm of the Democrats" in the House of Representatives and shares a building with the party. "We don't condone these sorts of activities and we take every precaution to ensure that our network is used in a responsible manner," Doug Thornell of the DCCC told the BBC News website. Mr Thornell pointed out that the edit had been made "close to two years ago" and it was "impossible to know" who had done it. VOTING ISSUE The site also indicates that Vatican computers were used to remove content from a page about the leader of the Irish republican party Sinn Fein, Gerry Adams. The edit removed links to newspaper stories written in 2006 that alleged that Mr Adams' fingerprints and handprints were found on a car used during a double murder in 1971. The section, titled "Fresh murder question raised" is no longer part of the main online encyclopaedia entries. Wikipedia Scanner also points the finger at commercial organisations that have modified entries about the pages. One in particular is Diebold, a company which supplies electronic voting machines in the US. In October 2005, a person using a Diebold computer removed paragraphs about Walden O'Dell, chief executive of the company, which revealed that he had been "a top fund-raiser" for George Bush. A month later, other paragraphs and links to stories about the alleged rigging of the 2000 election were also removed. The paragraphs and links have since been reinstated. Diebold officials have not responded to requests by the BBC for information about the changes. WEB HISTORY The Wikipedia Scanner results are not the first time that people have been uncovered editing their own Wikipedia entries.* Earlier this year, Microsoft was revealed to have offered money to trawl through entries about document standards it and other companies employ. Staff at the US Congress have also previously been exposed for editing and removing sensitive information about politicians. By Richard Stallman - from 'Computer Information' Who should your computer take its orders from? Most people think their computers should obey them, not obey someone else. With a plan they call "trusted computing," large media corporations (including the movie companies and record companies), together with computer companies such as Microsoft and Intel, are planning to make your computer obey them instead of you. Proprietary programs have included malicious features before, but this plan would make it universal. Proprietary software means, fundamentally, that you don't control what it does; you can't study the source code, or change it. It's not surprising that clever businessmen find ways to use their control to put you at a disadvantage. Microsoft has done this several times: one version of Windows was designed to report to Microsoft all the software on your hard disk; a recent "security" upgrade in Windows Media Player required users to agree to new restrictions. RENT OUT THE USE OF YOUR COMPUTER But Microsoft is not alone: the KaZaa music-sharing software is designed so that KaZaa's business partner can rent out the use of your computer to their clients. These malicious features are often secret, but even once you know about them it is hard to remove them, since you don't have the source code. In the past, these were isolated incidents. "Trusted computing" would make it pervasive. "Treacherous computing" is a more appropriate name, because the plan is designed to make sure your computer will systematically disobey you. In fact, it is designed to stop your computer from functioning as a general-purpose computer. Every operation may require explicit permission. The technical idea underlying treacherous computing is that the computer includes a digital encryption and signature device, and the keys are kept secret from you. (Microsoft's version of this is called "palladium.") Proprietary programs will use this device to control which other programs you can run, which documents or data you can access, and what programs you can pass them to. These programs will continually download new authorization rules through the Internet, and impose those rules automatically on your work. If you don't allow your computer to obtain the new rules periodically from the Internet, some capabilities will automatically cease to function. Of course, Hollywood and the record companies plan to use treacherous computing for "DRM" (Digital Restrictions Management), so that downloaded videos and music can be played only on one specified computer. Sharing will be entirely impossible, at least using the authorized files that you would get from those companies. You, the public, ought to have both the freedom and the ability to share these things. (I expect that someone will find a way to produce unencrypted versions, and to upload and share them, so DRM will not entirely succeed, but that is no excuse for the system.) Making sharing impossible is bad enough, but it gets worse. There are plans to use the same facility for email and documents -- resulting in email that disappears in two weeks, or documents that can only be read on the computers in one company. Imagine if you get an email from your boss telling you to do something that you think is risky; a month later, when it backfires, you can't use the email to show that the decision was not yours. "Getting it in writing" doesn't protect you when the order is written in disappearing ink. Imagine if you get an email from your boss stating a policy that is illegal or morally outrageous, such as to shred your company's audit documents, or to allow a dangerous threat to your country to move forward unchecked. However because of our reluctance to get-involved: most Americans have yet to concede that the presidency, presently, only exists as a fictional and strictly ceremonial image because that office was only one of the three parts that once jointly governed the United States. . . congress has gagged itself and the courts remain mute, while this executive runs wild. This new Monarchy is a reflection of the times in which we live, because he isn’t a single figure but a Frankenstein creature with two heads. Cheney-Bush the First is the title of this new Orwellian creation, which has just finished taking all power unto itself. If you think that this goes too far; perhaps you might want to review some of what we have allowed to happen under Cheney-Bush the First. Spend five minutes and fourteen seconds on this video and think about what this means to your freedoms. (1) SIGNING STATEMENTS There are some additional outrages that the clip doesn’t mention. The fact that Cheney-Bush the First has added well over a thousand signing statements to legislation passed by the congress: unilaterally nullifying the limitations set by the constitution on that office. His only choices were to sign or veto: but C-B-1 created a third path: he signs the laws but then declares that they do not apply to him. He has also arrogated immunity to himself and his underlings, bear in mind that the White House has over 5,000 employees – who are now apparently also immune from either oversight or prosecution. Only a King could do this. Then there is the Office of the Attorney General of the United States: again someone who took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution: except that the last two occupants have chosen loyalty to their leader over their duty to protect the people of the United States from a corrupt president and his gang of thugs that have claimed all power for themselves. I had a dream about a massive national celebration. It was the Coronation of the King of America. The parade resembled Carnival and it was led through the cordoned-off streets of Washington D.C. by tanks escorted by a thousand motor-cycle cops in riot gear – there were no protestors within the camera’s view. Everything was draped in red-white and blue – flags were everywhere and the air was filled with balloons, and then a marching band appeared with AK-47’s strapped to their backs, proudly playing “Hail to the Chief.” Immediately behind them a circus elephant, apparently drugged, was weaving up the boulevard amid an artificial fog that seemed to make everything surreal. Atop the elephant was a platform with oversize Tomahawk missiles supporting a huge crown of brilliant gold, and the whole platform swayed under the weight of the crown, with every drunken step of the beast. Aboard the platform was an overweight Dick Cheney wearing only a necktie. There were numerous IV bottles ranged around him that swayed in the stagnant Washington air. Cheney wore a mask of himself, perhaps six feet high, that featured his trademarked sneer, and in his upraised pudgy fist he held the strings of his puppet The Decider: whose giant mask looked eerily like Alfred E. Newman the comic-book version of “What me Worry.” BUSH WAS WEARING HIS PILOT’S UNIFORM, BUT IT WAS THE BANNER ABOVE THE CROWN THAT READ “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED,” WHICH SEEMED TO RULE THE MOMENT. It was only then I noticed that Nancy Pelosi was attempting to lead the elephant in her scanty cheerleading costume with “08” upon her sweater. She was cheered by a number of other characters that all seemed eager to help. Rummy was there dressed as a US military version of Darth Vader, with Wolfowitz as scissor-hands, and there were perhaps two hundred hooded prisoner’s that surrounded the elephant to protect it from any unexpected attacks by the crowd. These figures were chained together and controlled by some hidden weapon that shocked them, whenever they began to falter. As the procession came abreast of my position I noticed that behind the two-headed King was Condi Rice, in a gold lame full-length sheath, sitting on a handcuffed and gagged Colin Powell while she ate some grapes and waved to where she obviously thought the crowds might be – but the fog machine obscured her view. EXPLORED A MONARCHY The nightmare dissolved, but the thoughts about what all that might portend did not. Then I remembered that recent Bill Moyers Journal article that had explored a Monarchy and contrasted the current administration with others where Impeachment was raised. “JOHN NICHOLS: I think that the war on terror, as defined by our president, is perpetual war. And I think that he has acted precisely as Madison feared. He has taken powers unto himself that were never intended to be in the executive. And, frankly, that when an executive uses them, in the way that this president has, you actually undermine the process of uniting the country and really focusing the country on the issues that need to be dealt with. Let's be clear. If we had a president who was seeking to inspire us to take seriously the issues that are in play and to bring all the government together, he'd be consulting with Congress. He'd be working with Congress. And, frankly, Congress, through the system of checks and balances, would be preventing him from doing insane things like invading Iraq. JOHN NICHOLS: People don't want to let this go. They do not accept Nancy Pelosi's argument that impeachment is, quote/unquote, off the table. Because I guess maybe they're glad she didn't take some other part of the Constitution off the table like freedom of speech. But they also don't accept the argument that, oh, well, there's a presidential campaign going on. So let's just hold our breath till Bush and Cheney get done. WHEN I GO OUT ACROSS AMERICA, WHAT I HEAR IS SOMETHING THAT'S REALLY VERY REFRESHING AND VERY HOPEFUL ABOUT THIS COUNTRY. An awfully lot of Americans understand what Thomas Jefferson understood. And that is that the election of a president does not make him a king for four years. That if a president sins against the Constitution-- and does damage to the republic, the people have a right in an organic process to demand of their House of Representatives, the branch of government closest to the people, that it act to remove that president. And I think that sentiment is afoot in the land. BILL MOYERS: Bruce, you talk about overreaching. What, in practical terms, do you mean by that? BRUCE FEIN: It means asserting powers and claiming that there are no other branches that have the authority to question it. Take, for instance, the assertion that he's made that when he is out to collect foreign intelligence, no other branch can tell him what to do. That means he can intercept your e-mails, your phone calls, open your regular mail, he can break and enter your home. He can even kidnap you, claiming I am seeking foreign intelligence and there's no other branch Congress can't say it's illegal--judges can't say this is illegal. I can do anything I want. That is overreaching. When he says that all of the world, all of the United States is a military battlefield because Osama bin Laden says he wants to kill us there, and I can then use the military to go into your homes and kill anyone there who I think is al-Qaeda or drop a rocket, that is overreaching. That is a claim even King George III didn't make-- JOHN NICHOLS: Let me keep us on Cheney for a second here, because that is-- BILL MOYERS: YOU THINK CHENEY SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO IMPEACHMENT HEARINGS? JOHN NICHOLS: Without a doubt. Cheney is, for all practical purposes, the foreign policy president of the United States. There are many domestic policies in which George Bush really is the dominant player. But on foreign policy Dick Cheney has been calling the shots for six years and he continues to call the shots. Remember back in 2000, in the presidential debates, George Bush said America should be a humble country in the world, shouldn't go about nation building. And Dick Cheney, in the vice-presidential debate, spent eight minutes talking about Iraq. Now the fact of the matter is that on foreign policy, Dick Cheney believes that the executive branch should be supreme. He said this back to the days when he was in the House during Iran-Contra. He wrote the minority report saying Congress shouldn't sanction the president in any way, President Reagan. JOHN NICHOLS: And put these pieces together. If Cheney believes in this expansive power. You've got a-- unique crisis, a unique problem because the vice-president of the United States believes that Congress shouldn't even be a part of the foreign policy debate. And he is setting the foreign policy. I mean-- BILL MOYERS: THE POWER OF THE PURSE- BRUCE FEIN: --the power of the purse. That is an absolute power. And yet Congress shies from it. It was utilized during the Vietnam War, you may recall, in 1973. Congress said there's no money to go and extend the war into Laos and Cambodia. And even President Nixon said okay. This was a president who at one time said, "If I do it, it's legal." So that it we do find Congress yielding the power to the executive branch. It's the very puzzle that the founding fathers would have been stunned at. They worried most over the legislative branch in, you know, usurping powers of the other branches. And-- BILL MOYERS: Well, what you just said indicts the Congress more than you're indicting George Bush and Dick Cheney. BRUCE FEIN: In some sense, yes, because the founding fathers expected an executive to try to overreach and expected the executive would be hampered and curtailed by the legislative branch. And you're right. They have basically renounced-- walked away from their responsibility to oversee and check. It's not an option. It's an obligation when they take that oath to faithfully uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States. And I think the reason why this is. They do not have convictions about the importance of the Constitution. It's what in politics you would call the scientific method of discovering political truths and of preventing excesses because you require through the processes of review and vetting one individual's perception to be checked and-- counterbalanced by another's. And when you abandon that process, you abandon the ship of state basically and it's going to capsize.” (2) If we have a Republic, then we have constitutional methods to deal with illegality by the president and the vice-president. If we do not use those powers then the nation will lose them and we shall have a king instead of a president. Fred Bridgland ''Holden Álvaro Roberto, who has died at the age of 84 from heart disease, was the "secret weapon" of first John F Kennedy and later Henry Kissinger, for securing postcolonial Angola, Africa's most resource-rich territory, as a U.S. and western ally.'' Burying the Last of Angola's 'Big Men' By Fred Bridgland - Johannesburg Posted to the web 8 August 2007 - With Roberto's death, the three "big men" of Angolan liberation, who featured on the front pages of the world's press in the mid-1970s, are all dead. The other two , Agostinho Neto, leader of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), and Jonas Savimbi, leader of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (Unita), died in 1979 and 2002 respectively. Roberto, hailed by some as the "father of Angolan nationalism", proved to be a dud missile, despite the hundreds of millions of dollars that were spent on him by western governments. His demise can be definitively dated to November 10 1975, the day before Angolan independence from Portugal. The high commissioner, Leonel Cardoso, and his staff scuttled out of Luanda, leaving their former subjects to shoot things out among themselves. As Cardoso fled to an offshore frigate, Roberto and his FNLA (National Front for the Liberation of Angola) began to execute a US plan to make Angola and its oil, diamonds and other riches the west's best friend in Africa. At dawn on November 10, about 1500 FNLA soldiers began advancing in a single column across the broad and marshy valley of the Bengo River, 30km north of Luanda. The FNLA forces were supported by two regular battalions of the Zairian army and 100 Portuguese Angolan soldiers. SOUTH AFRICAN ARMY GUNNERS ON A RIDGE TO THE NORTH OF THE RIVER AIMED THEIR THREE 18KM-RANGE ARTILLERY PIECES ACROSS THE RIVER, WHERE 800 CUBANS WERE DUG IN ON HILLTOPS AROUND THE VILLAGE OF QUIFANDONGO. As the FNLA advanced across the swamp along a narrow road on top of a dyke, a barrage of mortar shells and 122mm rockets was laid down from Quifandongo by the Cubans and supporting Angolan guerrillas of the Soviet-backed MPLA. The South African artillery was no match for the Cubans' Soviet-supplied weaponry. Most of Roberto's dozen armoured cars and a half-dozen Jeeps mounted with antitank rockets were knocked out within an hour. The CIA, and British and French intelligence men watching the debacle estimated that about 2000 rockets landed among the FNLA forces. Roberto's men panicked and got bogged down in the swamp. Cubans dashed forward in Jeeps to fire RPG-7 rocket grenades and anti-aircraft guns along the dyke among the demoralised Africans, compounding their misery. Hundreds of the FNLA men died. The 26-man South African contingent escaped by night to the South African navy frigate, President Steyn, that was waiting offshore. DEATH ROAD The disaster, which became known as "Nshila wa Lufu" (Death Road), broke the FNLA. Roberto's dream of becoming independent Angola's first president - which was also Kennedy's and Kissinger's dream for him - was dead, too. The CIA and its western partners, including SA, switched its support to Savimbi, a Chinese-trained Maoist, and the Angolan War ended only on 22 February 2002, when Savimbi was killed after being trapped against a tributary of the Zambezi and riddled with bullets by government troops. Roberto was born on January 12 1923 in Sa o Salvador, now known as Mbanza Congo, in northern Angola. When he was two, his family relocated to the former Belgian Congo - subsequently Zaire and now the Democratic Republic of the Congo - where he worked in the finance ministry of the colonial administration. Roberto formed the country's first nationalist movement, called the Union of Angolan Peoples, which was linked to his own Bakongo, the country's third-largest ethnic group, and then transformed it into the FNLA in the 1960s. Mobutu Sese Seko, the CIA's "biggest man in Africa" He began an incursion into Angola on March 15 1961, and his forces overran farms, government outposts and trading centres, killing everyone they encountered. At least 1000 Portuguese and an unknown number of black Angolans were killed. The Portuguese quickly reorganised and drove the FNLA forces back into the Congo. Roberto sat in Kinshasa, the Congo capital, and was unreceptive to ideas for halting the decline. He took to driving around the Congo capital in a black Mercedes and forged an alliance with Zaire's President Mobutu Sese Seko, the CIA's "biggest man in Africa", by divorcing his first wife and marrying Seko's sister-in-law. When Angola held its first democratic election in 1991, Roberto ran unsuccessfully for president, receiving only 2,1% of the vote. By Paul Anthony Taylor Evidence increasingly suggests that vitamin and mineral deficiencies are widespread in the European Union. A recent report, for example, suggests that up to 3.6 million people in the UK now suffer from malnutrition. As a result, according to the British Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, malnutrition currently costs the UK's National Health Service more than £7.3bn (€10.8bn / US $14.8bn) a year. With the estimates suggesting that up to 6 per cent of the UK population could be suffering from serious vitamin and mineral deficiencies, and UK hospital figures showing malnutrition to be found in all age groups, including newborn babies, one has to question the wisdom of an upcoming proposal from the European Commission – the European Union's executive body – that threatens to ban thousands of vitamin and mineral supplements from being sold in Europe. AFTER ALL, IT'S NOT AS IF THE PROBLEM OF NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCIES WAS ONLY CONFINED TO THE UK. In 1997, for example, a report by the European Commission into nutrient intake in European Union Member States concluded that "for almost all vitamins, minerals and trace elements, there exist one or more population groups with intakes below nationally recommended levels." People thought to be particularly at risk included: women; adolescents or children (particularly "picky" ones); the elderly; women during the periconceptual period; people on a diet for losing weight; people on vegetarian diets; people having allergies to foods; persons eating a high proportion of "fast foods" or "junk foods" and others. The nutrients found to be most often deficient included iron, iodine and vitamins B2, B6 and D; and this despite the fact that in many cases, with the exception of iodine, they were already being added to some foods as mandatory fortificants. RESTRICTIONS ON PERMITTED NUTRIENT LEVELS IN SUPPLEMENTS Given the widespread nature of nutrient deficiencies in Europe, naturopathic doctors, natural health experts and millions of consumers are currently up in arms over the fact that the European Commission is preparing to propose, before the end of this year, restrictions on the maximum permitted levels of vitamins and minerals in food supplements. Ignoring independent studies showing that the nutrient content of our food has fallen substantially over the past few decades, as well as an an abundance of knowledge and scientific data on vitamins and nutrition that has been available for 50, 60, 70 even 80 years, it is widely expected that the levels the Commission is planning will be highly restrictive and far below those that are necessary to achieve and maintain optimum health. If these expectations are correct, therefore, the legal enforcement of such levels will result in the enactment of Europe-wide bans upon literally thousands of food supplement products, some of which have been sold and consumed safely for decades. EUROPEAN COMMISSION ADMITS THAT MOST SUPPLEMENTS ARE SAFE Not for the first time, however, the European Commission's plans are openly at odds with some of its previous assurances. In 2002, for example, during the run-up to the adoption by the European Parliament of the controversial Food Supplements Directive, the then European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection, David Byrne, published a message on the internet, on behalf of the Commission, in which he claimed that "The aim is not to ban food supplements, as some have alleged." Byrne's message was published in response to the large number of letters that the Commission had received from citizens who were concerned about the Directive and who were opposed to its adoption. Notably, therefore, Byrne specifically stated in this message that: "There is no doubt that most of the products marketed today are safe and of the expected quality." KNOWINGLY INTENDS TO BAN PRODUCTS THAT IT CONSIDERS TO BE SAFE As such, if the maximum levels for vitamins and minerals that the Commission proposes turn out to be as low as some observers are claiming they will be, many consumers of food supplements will quite reasonably conclude that the Commission knowingly intends to ban products that it considers to be safe. Perhaps mindful of the large numbers of European citizens who oppose the Food Supplements Directive, Byrne chose to end his message as follows: "I can assure you that your interests and those of consumers in general were at the top of our concerns when we proposed the Directive. I believe that you have every right to have a wide choice of safe and appropriately labelled food supplements available, to buy if you so wish. And I remain convinced that the Directive that will be shortly formally adopted by the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers will ensure that." When the maximum levels are eventually announced, therefore, European citizens will finally discover whether Byrne and the Commission were telling the truth, or whether – as some have alleged – their real aim was to ban supplements and they were lying all along."
